Forrest Kane

Co-Founder and CMO

The most persuasive creative is engineered from a place of deep understanding, and only then is it imagined.

I am the founder and CEO of a behavioral and creative agency called Headword! where I lead a diverse team of neuroscientists, ethnographic researchers, strategists, writers, designers, and technologists to develop persuasive creative. Using a unique blend of neurobiology, behavior, and creativity, my team precision-engineers creative projects to ethically influence human behavior.

I am based in Atlanta, GA. A graduate of Emory University, I extensively studied computer science, neurobiology and behavioral sciences, French, and physics before graduating with one of Emory’s first Playwriting degrees. This blend of diverse vocational backgrounds is at the center of my career. I have a history of competition, having competed in high level esports in college and also fencing in the foil category of the Junior Olympics in high school. After a debilitating back injury left me with nerve damage in my hands and fingers that made it impossible to fence and difficult to play video games, my love of competition developed into a deep love of strategy and game theory which I use almost every day to shape the strategic frameworks for highly competitive brands and entertainment properties.

Under my leadership, Headword! has skyrocketed to the forefront of entertainment and startup marketing in America. My team’s focus on understanding an audience deeply with true compassion and using that understanding to build iconic brand identity systems quickly expanded our client roster to include big brands like Disney+, Subway, Rangewater, American Dad, and Greenday. I am most proud of my work as a writer and executive producer on an animated show called Godspeed, and I am actively managing the entire marketing efforts for eight different television shows and movies.

I also serve on the board of directors of Dad’s Garage theater, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization focused on the transformational power of laughter. When not actively working with my team to build innovative performance creative, I help out the digital content team at Dad’s Garage or work on The Headword! Show, a YouTube show about why some stuff gets stuck in our heads and some stuff doesn’t. Headword! works extensively in the non-profit sector, especially in the arts. Our clients include both The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and The High Museum of Art.

As an Eagle Scout, I have spent a lot of time walking around outside, which is my main pastime when not working on something creative. Of course, that’s where I get my best thinking done. Currently, I am getting allergy treatments so that I may one day live with a small cat and a big dog. I dream of growing grapes and keeping bees.
